Hey there, it's me, Kayla Lee
Part designer, part maker, part former middle/high school English and social studies teacher, part wedding photographer, and part “this could be fun, so naturally I turned it into a whole entire thing.”
Before Sew Festive, I spent years teaching teenagers how to start when something felt intimidating, break big ideas into doable steps, and keep going through the messy middle. Then photography taught me how to read a room, guide people gently, notice the little details, and make everyone feel less weird while real moments unfold.
So, weirdly enough, hosting a virtual craft night feels like the most natural thing in the world: part teacher, part photographer, part maker, part “don’t worry, I’ve got you.”
Sew Festive was built to make embroidery feel more approachable, more modern, and a lot less intimidating. I’ll walk you through the project step by step, but more than that, I’ll help make the night feel easy, cozy, and actually fun.
QUESTIONS ABOUT THE RETREAT?
I get asked all the time if I do workshops, and the truth of the matter is I really struggle with that. I have lovely customers all across the Midwest, so it is hard to set up for a workshop to reach everyone. For that reason, I am trying a virtual craft night: We join via an online video platform where we can all come together to craft, no matter where we are:)
Absolutely! So long as everyone has bought a virtual craft night kit, you are welcome to absolutely make this your own craft night in! You are also given access to a replay for a little bit, so you can even simply use this as your curriculum for your own craft day/night after the fact.
I'm not 100% sure yet, but the first one will be sometime in the fall of 2026. I am feeling a weeknight the third week of October, but I will update here as soon as it has been decided.
The virtual craft night kit will be shipped to the address you provide at checkout, and within that box will contain the QR code and URL to enter the virtual craft room (this will also be emailed to you prior to the event).
